Exploitation Plan – Key Findings

Deliverable D7.1

To ensure that the results of POWER-E-COM create lasting impact beyond the project duration, Deliverable D7.1 presents the project’s Exploitation Plan. This document defines how key outputs will be sustained, transferred and further developed after the end of the LIFE funding period.

The Exploitation Plan is a strategic roadmap for maximising the long-term value of POWER-E-COM’s results across Europe.

Objective of Deliverable 7.1

The main objective of the Exploitation Plan is to:

  • Identify the Key Exploitable Results (KERs) of POWER-E-COM
  • Define ownership and responsibilities for each result
  • Assess their maturity and market readiness
  • Identify target groups and potential users
  • Outline strategies for replication and scaling

The deliverable ensures that project outcomes continue to contribute to the Clean Energy Transition after September 2026.

What Does the Exploitation Plan Cover?

Deliverable D7.1 provides:

  • A structured methodology for selecting Key Exploitable Results
  • Detailed descriptions of each KER
  • Assessment of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
  • Identification of key stakeholders and beneficiaries
  • Analysis of replication potential across different European contexts
  • Strategic actions for long-term sustainability

The plan links exploitation activities with communication and dissemination efforts to strengthen impact at local, regional and European level.

Key Exploitable Results of POWER-E-COM

Among the main results identified for long-term exploitation are:

  • Adapted and transferable Energy Community Business Models
  • Capacity-building and mentoring frameworks for municipalities
  • Training materials and knowledge packages
  • Governance cooperation models between local authorities and citizen initiatives
  • Replication methodologies for different regulatory environments

Each result is analysed in terms of its potential use beyond the consortium and its contribution to accelerating renewable and citizen energy communities.

Key Findings

The Exploitation Plan highlights that:

  • POWER-E-COM results have strong replication potential in regions at different stages of energy community development.
  • Local and regional authorities are key multipliers for sustaining impact.
  • Cooperation between municipalities and citizen groups is crucial for long-term success.
  • Structured mentoring and business model adaptation significantly increase implementation rates.
  • Continued dissemination and stakeholder engagement are essential to trigger additional investments and policy uptake.

These findings confirm the project’s strong catalytic potential at financial, spatial and thematic level.

Contribution to Long-Term Impact

Through the implementation of the Exploitation Plan, POWER-E-COM aims to:

  • Trigger additional investments in community energy projects
  • Increase renewable energy production and primary energy savings
  • Strengthen governance structures for citizen participation
  • Support policy implementation at regional and national level

The plan ensures alignment with the objectives of the LIFE Programme and EU energy and climate policies.
